Salamander contributors Beth Woodcome Platow, Ben Berman, Marsha Pomerantz, and editors Jacob Strautmann and Anna Ross read for the launch of the spring/summer issue.

Beth Woodcome Platow has published poems in Ploughshares, AGNI, and Gulf Coast, among other journals. She won the 2013 Beyond Baroque Poetry Prize, the Grolier Prize, and PEN/New England Discovery award.

Ben Berman has received numerous honors from the New England Poetry Club and poetry fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and Somerville Arts Council. His first book, Strange Borderlands, was recently published by Able Muse Press.

Marsha Pomerantz is the author of The Illustrated Edge (Biblioasis, 2011). Her poems and prose have been published in journals in the US, UK, and Israel, and she has translated poetry, short fiction, and a novel from the Hebrew. She was the recipient of a 2012 Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship in Poetry.

Jacob Strautmann is a guest poetry editor for this issue of Salamander.  His poetry has appeared in various publications, including The Boston Globe, Salamander, SPOKE, Appalachian Journal, and Poetry Northeast. He is the Managing Director of Boston Playwrights’ Theatre. 

Anna Ross is a guest poetry editor for this issue of Salamander. She is the author of If a Storm, winner of the Robert Dana-Anhinga Prize for Poetry. Her work has appeared in many journals including Barrow Street, Salamander, Southern Poetry Review, and The Brooklyn Quarterly, and she has recently received fellowships from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
