Emily as the Fairytale of Ohio

I’m on fire for being whatever
she wants Ohio to be.
I ran out of money in the first
Ohio. So, I’m going
to have to learn another
way to sweat in a land
without any gardens.
One Emily should be
enough to turn this
around. I’ll vote
& buy a hatchet.
I’ll recover from the gun shots.
I’ll buy graffiti paint.
I’ll piss poorly, again,
in the Governor’s Mansion.
I’ll love her like there is a rest
of the world that can love
& when my ashes are put
in the five bodies of water
I’ve prescribed, the five bodies
of water in Ohio
I’ve chosen to have
flecks of my skin float in
for a little bit more time,
you will all know that fighting
is what Emily asked me to do
& so I fought everyone
that chose to know Emily
& not make this place better.
