Emily as a Layered Work of Fierce Tenderness

When I tell you that she is a palace
Emily wants you to know that she is
mostly a lasagna
& she means it
because there is no love language
to the stacking of stones
or in the ornate gates I can imagine,
but when I try for the epic
& she gets me to laugh, god damn
I am in her kitchen forever.
